About Me

Hi, I’m Aubrey!

I’m a native Iowan who has spent my career collaborating with others to build something better. Whether it was building fitness programs, corporate sales incentives, or rebuilding our food system, I’ve been putting my curiosity, creativity, and persistence to good use.

After taking a local food coordinator job in 2013, I founded Eat Greater Des Moines, a central Iowa nonprofit focused on rebuilding the food system into something that works for everyone.

A conference room filled with people listening to a speaker on stage. The stage has a large screen displaying the text: 'Invest in shifting the conditions that are holding this problem in place.' There are two smaller screens on either side of the stage displaying the same text. The room has large windows allowing natural light, and the audience is seated facing the speaker and screens.

A booth for Greater DSM with a green tablecloth and a sign banner. Three women standing behind the table, smiling. Red wall with a mounted directory and information about Rasmussen Foundation, Charles S. and Jaina Johnson, Anonymous, and Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino.

By challenging the status quo and leading with my values of justice, kindness, and collaboration, I have shown what is possible when we work with our friends and neighbors to build a food system that works for everyone.
